In the UK these are 'fashionable'....

How did these things manage to end up being fashionable?
There ugly and totally not cool.
They look like something out of your mothers pile of 70's clothes in the attic.
Yet loads of people wear them, obviously people who cant let go of the past, or someone who has no dress sense.
Oh and im not sure if these are fashionable in the US, please tell me....
