...grumpy (eg: House)? It's like all unhappy people are atheists in the cinema. I have never seen a happy, in love character who doesn't in some context mention god or destiny, or some other kind of wishful thinking.

Give me an example of a character who is happy, and faithless, or by the end of the film his non-belief is somehow challenged by some magical fairy coincidence and rainbows.
