why is it such a hassle to get my mom to cut my hair?

first let me say im african american
is it that most african americans hair does not grow that fast? or wat?
i have a good length of hair and i love to make it look nice and stuff but it gets in the way
sometimes i tell myself to just be thankful that God gave me hair
but.... idk help please!
