I don't see why they keep assuming only "life-supporting" planets are capable of extraterrestrial life.
What if the aliens had a total different biology from humans, hence not needed the lifesupport that we need. Couldn't Aliens have evolved by their own means of natural selection to grow into the environment that their planet possesses.
