Why is it left out that Aliens might have a total different biology then humans?

I don't see why they keep assuming only "life-supporting" planets are capable of extraterrestrial life.

What if the aliens had a total different biology from humans, hence not needed the lifesupport that we need. Couldn't Aliens have evolved by their own means of natural selection to grow into the environment that their planet possesses.

Why is it just assumed that if no oxygen, no water = no life? (Many other assumptions not stated)
 
You know, that actually makes sense. I personally don't believe in alternative life forms, but if I did I would completely agree with you. More than likely aliens would adapt to wherever they are living, so they wouldn't need water or oxygen.

Now you gave me something to think about... :)
