Why Is it hard to save SWF files?

I understand for videos this is good, but More specifically Free online flash games, what is the purpose of making these so hard to download?

I would have bought a game now that I can, but I couldn't download it before and now simply don't remember what it was. besides *most* users who would like to download a flash game want to cause they have little or limited access to the internet. Shielding downloads cant really be for revenue can it?
"look into the source code of the webpage and look for an embed tag and see the link to the swf file, copy it - paste it in your browser and press enter and then just simple save the page, I mean the swf file!"

Does not work and does not answer my question.

Many flash games are hosted on a site and can only be linked to the file actively searches for permissions. if one does manage to download it, it simply states its expected web address was not found.

Fire fox "save page as" does not work.
its view page info and media tab do not work.
FireFix, IE view source code copy/paste SWF file to new browsing session save does not work.

This was intentional my question is why?

I am aware there are ways to download the file, in theory anything that loads on your computer can be downloaded.
I admit I don't know exactly how but its irrelevant.
"enter the webpage URL where the flash is, the program will do all of the left. Then you can save the downlaoded flash files in your pc"

Does not work, and again does not answer the question, thanks for trying to help though.

Before anyone else suggests somthing that will likely fail, try passing it through kongregate something like fantastic contraption or onslaught

even "cheat" sites "secure" their SWF's

try this for instance (/nospace) http : // www. arcade pre hacks . com / play / 11981 . html
None of the previous suggestions worked on this.

Can ANYONE please tell me why they did/do this? you cant tell me it wasn't intentional.

Well I wouldn't say saving SWF files is hard 'cause its not!
All you have to do is look into the source code of the webpage and look for an embed tag and see the link to the swf file, copy it - paste it in your browser and press enter and then just simple save the page, I mean the swf file!
Now everything I said will work fine until the SWF file you're talking about uses resources from the net other than the content of the file itself or if the website of which you're talking about uses some kind of protection to see if the SWF file was called from inside a webpage or simply by accessing it via URL.
There are n number of ways to protect users from saving an SWF file and I know about them myself but I'm not going to explain all that because the question doesn't demand it.
All you need to know right now is that if there's a game which you can play on the net but cannot download or get it to work after downloading uses resources other than the file itself which are obviously on the net. And if the website provides you with a link to download the game after paying it some amount then either the downloadable SWF is a different version which has all the resources in itself or maybe they provide you access to their SWF file by removing their security check for you.
