Why is/isn't Russia a threat to U.S. Interest?

I have a debate for speech class on this topic. I'm not very familiar with how a debate goes. I was stuck to be partners with the kid that plans on dropping out, so he isn't going to be much help. I really don't even know what U.S. interest is, so if you can answer that it would be appreciated too.

Please note bullets on how Russia is/isn't a threat to U.S. interest.
