Why is he still complaining?

This guy and i got into this big fight a year bak because i lied to him about who i liked. I think he liked me back then, and i liked him too. But he is usually the type of guy who isn't rele that serious, so if a girl or someone pisses him off, he kind of just rubs it off and moves on. He doesn't hold grudges, and he just kinda moves from girl to girl rele easily, if he gets rejected he rele doesn't take it that seriously. Him and i haven't spoken in half a year now, and i barely know he exists, and i didn't think he even knew that i existed either. However, my friends talk to him and they say that he is constantly tying me into the conversation even if its not about me at all. They say he is constantly complaining about me, and talking badly about me, and he just won't let it go. I don't understand. Our fight happened a year ago, and i've barely spoken to him since, what is going on? Why is he still complaining about something that happened a year ago? O and by the way, i see him everyday because we are in the same school.
