I live near Galveston, Texas and my little older house got quite a bit of damage on the outside. I didn't have insurance to cover it and my husband and I are low income also. They denied my claim and have been helping others that are in a lot better shape to fix their houses than we are. Why would they do this? I have NEVER asked for help before and when we need it the people we thought would help us won't. A lady that I work with has damage and no food and gas money to get to work ( her co worker is helping her). She was also denied and couldn't get any food stamps. She also knows someone that is better off than she is and they gave them food stamps.
My friends at Yahoo Answers I'm not asking for charity and I wouldn't even get a bag of ice they were giving away because I thought someone else needed it more than me. It's just that something is seriously wrong when the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Has anyone else had the same thing done to them by FEMA? Thank you for letting me vent.
