Why is everyone mad at Bush when it is Congress's job to make the laws?

An administration is more than just one man. A president's policies and the people he appoints are what set the tone for how he runs the country.

Bush had a republican congress for 6 years. The only reason I can think that any of them would be re-elected is because people don't pay attention and vote them out.

I hope this catastrophe that we have will wake people up. Don't just get involved during a presidential election. Know who you're senators and representatives are, and know them well. Get involved on a local level, too. It's the only way we can really know what's going on and when to boot them out. Don't just listen to what others say either.

The executive branch just enforces them. Don't get me wrong, I do not think that he is doing a good job, but congress is doing even a worse job. But why are so amy incumbents going to win reelection?

1) war in Iraq and lying about the reasons; 2) not responding to Katrina victims in time ("great job, Brownie); and 3) lack of leadership during the worst economic crisis. Sadly,it was clear after 9/11 that Bush was in way over his head.

Bush leads this country and influences it's direction. He makes decisions for us and promises money, and support to Other countries. NO , Congress does not RUN the Government.

It's like everything else in life. No one wants to take accountability for their actions so they just like to point fingers at someone else and Bush is the biggest target.

*sigh* While I agree that most of the economic stress isn't Bush's fault, he's not free from blame. He does have us in a trillion dollar war, our nations debt has doubled under his administration and "No Child Left Behind" is a joke. So do I think everything that is going on now is all his fault, of course not. However I don't think he's a competent President either.

Edit: McCain is loosing because his campaign is being ran like a circus. Instead of talking about Obama's "friends", he should talk about policy, because most Americans aren't care. i.e Look at the times we're in.

the MSM has decided that Bush is guilty and that you'll vote for their boy whether you like it or not ... so they're distorting the truth, as usual.

I'm baffled too. We have had a "DO-NOTHING-CONGRESS" for the past 2 years. Look at the mess we're in now. That should tell us something about Pelosi and Franks. Somehow, I guess the President gets blamed for this too. At least he has kept us safe as a nation these past 8 years. I hate to think what will happen if we put a person in the White House that wants to sit down and talk with other countries with no preconditions.

Because people love to point fingers and choose scapegoats for thier own misdoings. This economy crisis is the bigest farce on the planet. Yes, its very real but it was perpetuated by every American that enjoyed inflated stock market returns, artificial equity in their homes, low interest rates, easy access loans, etc. Now that the market is going through its own corrections (the great thing about a capitalist economy) people don't want to look in a mirror. Live within your means and you won't need bailouts and help from Uncle Sam.

It is obvious that most people on here are children. Everything that happens in the White house IS voted on, Mr. Bush does not make these decisions, he puts them out for the house to vote. And the Dem's just love to play the "blame game".

I will never understand the hatred leveled toward Mr. Bush. Damn he has tried his best during very difficult times and gets crucified for every foolish little problem that comes down the pike. You are CORRECT, it is all about Congress. I live in MA and, for the life of me, cannot fathom how kerry and Kennedy continue to get re-election. Time for term limits!!!!!!!

Bush will go down in history as our worst president. He failed to lead, define sound public policy, make decisions in the best interest of America, aggravated foreign relations, nad all too often ignored law to make his own policies and decisions. No president should ever be allowed to do as he wants as congress and the American people have allowed Bush to do. Bush should have been impeached long ago; doing so would have saved America much grief and sent a message to the world that America will not stand behind a president like Bush. He has destroyed our economy, our foreign relations and our quality of life!
