why is everyone judging teams based on 2 weeks of play?

Whether we as fans of the game like it, or not it's simply a matter of mathematics. 2 weeks out of 16 = 12.5% of the season. 2 more weeks, and that figure jumps to 25%. Unlike baseball, or basketball. Football has more emphais on winning each, and every game. In baseball for example a team can lose 60+ games, and still look good for a playoff spot. By contrast football teams can't even count on the playoffs if they lose 7 games. In fact 9 - 7 probably doesn't make the playoffs.

I mean I'm using Dallas because I rem. when this went down 1993 they lost their first 2 opening games, everyone said they were all done that same year went on to win the superbowl! So how can anyone judge what a teams season is gonna be like after 2 games?
true true but all I see is oh the Jets are going all the way and or the Pats are done or Steelers are over it's just a little too early to be saying big statments like that.To say thres a good chance of something is one thing but to say a team is def. gonna be this way or that way is a joke. Imo. But I agree theres not much to talk about as of yet except how teams look, I'm just saying too early to count anyone out or in.
Yeah Jim like the Pats last year went 11-5 and DIDN'T make the playoffs??
ooo and Miami I feel for you that IS a tuff tuff schedule ahead

All i know is the cowboys proved they can hang with the best even thought they lost. If Romo took care of the ball better, it could have been a blowout of the giants. But giants won fair and square.

GO COWBOYS

because that's what we do.

And in 1993, Dallas played their first 2 games without Emmit Smith who was holding out. They righted the ship as soon as he came back. No one wrote them off after an 0-2 start because it was obvious they would improve when he returned.
