If anyone out there is a candidate in the upcoming Scottish Election, can you PLEASE explain to me why every single campaign leaflet which has come through our letterbox is addressed personally to my husband? We are living in the 21st century, not Victorian times, and I find this insulting in the extreme.. Do they not care about my vote? Or do they assume I will vote the way my husband tells me? Some chance of that in 2011! I realise there are probably economic reasons for only sending one leaflet, but why is it addressed to him? Could they not send it to the ---------- family? If it were not for the suffragettes who suffered and even died so that I could have the vote, I would be sorely tempted not to vote for any of the sexist b******s!
