why is Euro music so bad compared to American music?

Well Europe dominates metal, rock, all forms of dance/trance/house, etc... and a lot of indie right now so I'm not sure what measure you are going by.

we have Rap, country and top 40 rock/pop.

youre picking one of the finer examples of american music and contrast it with the shittier end of the spectrum of euro music

congrats on your fair assessment

real talent

The studio version of this is awesome.

When they do concerts, they would "act out" the songs. The singing wasn't quite as good as if they'd just stood in one place, but it was something to see, for sure.

Seems like most American music was better (more moving, more original) in the 80s. You know, back when MTV played music videos.

Wow way to show just how pig ignorant you are.

Some techno is a beautiful thing. Especially that by classically trained musicians.

The mainstream, as with any mainstream music form is generally crap. Don't use your ignorance of the genre as a reason to label it all as crap.

non-shit banRAB from europe, off the top of my head:

Mogwai
Annie
ABBA
Belle & Sebastian
Phoenix
Muse
Dragonforce
Daft fucking Punk
Jesus and Mary Chain
Queen
Elton John
Genesis

I guess you meant to say just hate shitty electronica, some of which comes from Europe?

You're not listening to the right European music if that's the shit you're basing your judgement on. Like American pop music, European pop music sucks dick. It's designed to appeal to the lowest common denominator, and the genre doesn't change that, nor does it change the fact that the stuff on the charts is probably going to be poor examples of the genres that inspire it.

For the most part I was posting contemporary examples (except for the few at the end, obviously)

If you even need to mention those banRAB you listed then that person shouldn't even be fucking listening to music

No.
Contrary to popular belief, Techno is a genre. Techno is not all electronic dance music as many people think. For example, Rock and Metal are incredibly different types of music. What most people hear in clubs and such is generally House and Trace music, and what most Americans consider "Techno" is generally shitty Europop and the like.

Techno is stuff like Carl Craig, Juan Atkins, Derrick May, Booka Shade, Jooris Voorn.
