Cleopatra was Egyptian by birth and Greek (i.e. caucasian) by race. This is a well known fact and if you were paying attention in history class then you would know this. She was part of the Ptolemy Dynasty which ruled Egypt for generations, The Ptolemies were from Greece.
From coinage, sculptures and paintings we know what she looked like -She was 5'0" and *thin*, with black wavy *hair*, brown eyes, a *long* nose, *small* lips and dark *olive* skin. Does she sound black to you? She looked like a typical Greek or Italian woman.
She was definitely not Black or even Egyptian. Even if she was an ethnic Egyptian she would still not be African because Egyptians are not African (yes I know Egypt is in Africa but Egyptians are more related to Middle Easterners).
I have no idea why she is portrayed as being black. Look in any book, website, ask a historian and the fact is she was Mediterranean or a dark skinned caucasian. She didn't have an afro or big lips or a wide nose.. She was classically beautiful. After all, she seduced the most powerful men in the world at the time..... Caesar and Mark Antony.
