The U.N. is filled with hypocrites.
The current U.N. Secretary general is an appointed representative of the government of Nigeria. Nigeria has a long, terrible, and ongoing history of political repression and torture. (look it up.)
Many of the nations who signed the charter do not live up to it's principles.
The Vatican is not a U.N. member because it could not live up to the religious freedom clause. (After all if you live in the Vatican you are a member of an order of the Church which has rules)
Whatever else you can say about the Catholic Church. at least they were honest about this.
My solution would be to found an "Order of Civilized Nations" and only admit members who lived up to certain standards.
Sadly, it would probably be condemned as Racist or whatever, since only Western nations would actually meet the standards. (besides Japan and Korea)
Don't expect anyone to criticize China anytime soon. They are covering the United States Debt, and are much too powerful to "liberate".
