I was made compulsorily redundant on 31st Dec, my insurance is due today.
My renewal notice come through from ecar (who have been very good for last 3 years) saying £384, so I updated my details saying I was unemployed and its hiked up to £700+
I've gone on loads of other sights and they are in the region of £400-£600
Its unfair, I didn't choose to lose my job |

Any suggestions on how to get it cheaper?
I've been on confused.com, moneysupermarket, gocompare, comparethe market, Tesco, churchill, morethan etc.
Would it make a much of a difference if I added someone else on the policy?
Note* I graduated from uni in 2001, got a job unrelated to my degree, worked for this company for almost 7 an half years. I don't know what career to go for now, and obviousily I want a new job, I have a mortgage on my own.
DAMN THE CREDIT CRUNCH and MONEY GRABBING INSURANCE COMPANIES
