I never could figure out Blood types and the reason for them. It's too complicated for me. I always wondered why you had to be a match to give someone blood. If someone who is type A needed blood and the only blood available is type B, could that person not recieve that blood anyway? Would their body reject it or something like that?

of course body will reject other than type that flow on your body, but u know, that u can change blood type by surgery? maybe that happen when the hospital dont have ur blood type supply...i guess..

btw, i heard blood type represent ur attitude, for example, b type is more stubborn..hahaha

Yes if you give the wrong blood type then the body will recognise it is not from their body and the immune system will attack it.

Think of it as the different blood types are all different colours and the immune system only lets in blood of one colour.

Your body's immune system attacks foreign objects. If the blood type does not match your body would see it as a foreign object.

Yes, the body would reject it and attack itself. You would die quite quickly and painfully.

Here's a bit more on that...

Yes, it has to do with the compatibility. You are exactly right, if it doesn't match, the body rejects it. Blood type is ONLY important of cases of transfusions. There is no need for someone to know their blood type, when you are in need, they can easily figure it out. People who donate blood often know, but that's only because they need to "type" it as soon as being donated. I also think the whole positive/negative thing has something to do with the particles in the blood, and obviously, if you put these together they may neutralize and not complete the proper function.

Yes the body would reject the type B blood.. This is how this works...

Type O blood is what is known as the universal doner...this means that type O blood can be used in place of any other blood type except O-. Type O+ is like a wild card that can be used in place of another...

Type O+ blood is the most common blood type.
however a person with type O+ blood must recieve type O+ blood and nothing else

for some reason when the body indicates that a different blood is in the system it views this type as alien or a foriegn enemy just like it would a virus or infection and will fight itself in order to get rid of it. that is why it is so important to know your blood type administering the wrong blood type to someone could be a choice of life or death.

I know it is confusing but that is just how the body works..

Their blood rejects it and starts to clot, which eventually leads to death if you don't have the right type of blood. If you go to donate your blood they explain everything. Some blood types everybody can receive so they make good donors.
