Why is amoxicillin and prednisone making me better?

Went in to complain about sinus infection to my doctor, he gave me amoxicillin and a round of prednisone. After taking the medicine for 6 days, my acidy stomach is gone, the bloating is gone. I am still getting the hoarseness though and a feeling like something in my neck, and a tad bit of swallowing problems. But it doesn't feel like my esophagus is swelled up still, I can breathe. I am suppose to go in for an EGD on Tuesday, I feel so much better now, I wonder about keeping this appt.
 
If some of your symptoms are due to swollen esophagus, then, yes, prednisone would relieve them. However, they might return after you stop the Prednisone, and staying on Prednisone long-term is a bad situation.

I would keep the appointment.
