why in Marine boot camp the DIs would count backwards from 60 and we were

suppose to make our racks and? be fully dressed in that short period of time? when they wernt satisfied they would thrash us. how is this suppose to make a fighting man? this was at revielle
 
You have to be always ready to work and do things at a fast pace... A lot of the stuff they make you do in boot may seem silly to you.
That's just what they do.
As for them thrashing you... They want you to be able to follow orders exactly how you are told. If they don't like how you did it, you will do it again until they do.
 
If you are a Marine then there is no reason to question their motives, you should know.

you went thru recruit training and you still don't understand? It was to teach you to move quickly and under pressure. Didn't you ever hear, move with a sense of urgency? What the hell did you expect? A gentle wake up call and breakfast in bed?
 
Listen cry baby, they have a full menu for you planned throughout the day for your young azz. Do you think their going to let you smoke and joke at the wash rack? They were killing time and having fun torturing you.....he he haha
