Why I cannot see my friends photos album in facebook ?

It kind of took me by surprise. I have this friend on facebook and I can just see his profile pictures and none of his other photo albums. I clearly remember he has other albums too. But recently I have noticed I can just see his profile picture album. Why is that so ? Are there any new privacy settings which blocks even friends to see your particular photo albums ? Guide me please
