Okay, i am currently in Year 11 doing a history GSCE and i was wondering why they've cut out World War 2 and the Holocaust from the curriculum. Maybe its just my school, and i wouldn't mind if it was replaced with maybe a part of british history (I seriously have Massive gaps in my British history knowledge.) But it had (did it last year) been replaced with the American West, nothing to do with colonization or the civil war, but the period from about 1810 to 1890. But mainly the Native American ways of life as well as the (lack of) law and order of the early country. And things such as the well know sheriffs. I understand how we went over there and basically killed hundreds of thousands of Native americans but sometimes i feel that maybe we should spent more time on the history of are own country. (I have gaps from about 0-1400 AD and 1600AD to present, but were studying crime and punishment at the moment. so that slightly fills in the gaps. But i am now devoting time to the history of my own country.)
Anyway back to the main question, why has it been cut out? Such an important topic and major event in human history and we don't learn about it? I though they were worried about our generation forgeting the great wars...
