In 2002 Ashley Blazer Biden, daughter of Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing a police officer outside a Chicago bar. Biden, who lives in Delaware and is a social worker for a child-welfare agency, was with a group of people on a North Side street when someone else threw a bottle at an officer. When police tried to arrest another person, Biden blocked the officer's path and made intimidating statements about her father's influence, officer JoAnn Taylor said. Biden was later released and scheduled to appear in court. In 1999 Biden had been arrested for pot possession. Nat Berman, a Tulane University classmate of Ashley's, told the New York Post that he bailed Ashley out of jail after her 1999 marijuana arrest in New Orleans, for which no conviction was recorded. Most recently, the New York Post reports, she is allegedly the subject of a videotape shot by an acquaintance showing her snorting cocaine. The acquaintance has so far refused to identify himself, acting through lawyers in his dealings with reporters, to whom he was at last report attempting to sell the purported video, while neither Ashley nor her parents have commented on the video.
