...aggressive? Our male Siberian has recently become incredibly fearful when he is alone around me, like he doesn't trust me, and has even bit me when I asked him to drop a twisty tie (from a loaf of bread) he had been chewing on. Nothing has changed in his life, no new people, no new foods, no new training/ discipline techniques. He has recently been to the vet and been all checked and has a clean bill of health. He was recently attacked by another dog at the park, but he was not hurt, and the situation was dealt with and he has not seen the other dog since.
He was a rescue, and we put in a lot of time training him and getting him socialized, but it seems like over the past 2 months he has been regressing, and has gotten too far out of hand. If anybody has any ideas on how to help they would much appreciated.
to clarify when I say "discipline" I don't mean anything bad, just a time out or a small tap or tug on the leash to re-direct, sorry if the wording was confusing
I should also add that the biting is not my concern, I understand that sometimes dogs will get a little bitey when you take something from them, and he is pretty new to the drop command. I'm more concerned that he suddenly has become so fearful. He does respect me he moves out of my way walks next to me not in front on walks, gets up out of the bed and off the couch when I go to sit down ect, will eat from my hand if I ask him will allow me to take his food and give it back ect. . . I'm more worried that he has become incredibly fearful, like tail tucked constantly when he is walking around, cowering when I go to pet him for no apparent reason. Like I said before I've never abused my dog and have used primarily reward based positive training techniques and I do not understand why he has suddenly become so afraid, and it has made it increasingly difficult to handle him.
