I have a 2000 Ford Mustang V6 that has all of a sudden lost mpg drastically. Normally when I make my trip home, 200 miles at 90mph on the interstate the whole way, I use just under 1/2 tank of gas. This past weekend I came home making the same trip of 200 miles on straight interstate, only this time I went 80mph the whole way. I USED A WHOLE TANK OF GAS FOR THAT 3 HOUR TRIP!!!!!!!
Why is this drastic change all of a sudden? Before I left I checked my tire pressure and they were right on the correct psi, I'm not due for an oil change/air filter change until another 300 miles, my engine check light is not on, my oil level is fine, I didn't ride with windows down.
A friend said it could have been bad gas, another said my o2 senser, another said my fuel lines could have trash in them.
What do you think? Thanks so much in advance.
