Why has 'global warming' turned into 'climate change'?

For the same reason that "create jobs" has been changed to "create OR SAVE jobs"

When people start catching on to the bullshit, you have to change it up a little
 
Well, it was called Global Warming for years and the phrase was used by the people who backed Al Gore's research and Nobel prize.

However, the GOP said it was fake for years, but when all the legitimate scientists said it was real, the GOP had to eat crow. But they changed it to Climate Change, so people wouldn't think they were in agreement with the Democrats.

Go figure.
 
Not 100% sure...could be to include changes in things outside of temperature. I think climate encompasses temperature and weather conditions. But I am not an environmental expert.
 
Because of situations like that in the Phoenix area the past week plus, highs in the low to mid 90s, overnight lows in the 70s. Normal highs this time of year are in the mid 100s. When I was younger, we called this stuff "hotter than normal" and "cooler than normal". These days we get assholes like Al Bore telling us we need to "fix" the "problem" by buying carbon offset credits from him.
 
The scientific community always used climate change. It was just the media that used global warming. Eventually, they listened to the scientists who told them they were using incorrect terminology.
 
Frankly, because too many Americans are uneducated on the subject and they kept posting things like "Why is it getting colder today when we're supposed to have global warming?" If they would only do a little research, they would find out that global warming both makes the planet colder and warmer at different times in different places. So the phrase "climate change" makes it more clear so that these uneducated people will stop posting stuff and blogging stuff they don't bother to understand.
 
I guess this is one of those areas where no one has read the real literature.

In the real literature--not the simplified stuff you bozo conservatives like to read, but the actual climate workups and projections--the term "global warming" has never been used. "Local warming" in coastal and polar areas HAS been used. But of course, "local warming" can be "global"...


The terms are not interchanged. "Global Warming" is a part of the general symptomology of a whole series of alterations,
but the term itself exists only in the popular press and people's imaginations, the closest valid terminology often referred to is "induced climate change". And there really isn't any doubt.

Listening to bytes on radio or television has nothing to do with the reality of the overall systemic modification.

The geographical surveys I read take note of the fact that some inland areas, for short intervals, are going to get colder. That data is fifteen or twenty years old. I know none of the neo-Nazi Republicans has ever mentioned it, but oddly enough, Gore HAS.

The oil companies and other corrupt conservatives keep hiring flaks and quacks and loons to say what they want them to, but they keep fading and being exposed.
 
because at first the temperature went up and then it went down so they needed to change it so supporters would not get questions on it
what a hoax,yes we need to take care of this planet but wow to suggest we are doomed if the temperature goes up or down by 1 degree is just nonsense
