I am getting a little tired of seeing most of the posts that I mention Victory's as a better alternative of an american bike than Harley being disapproved of. So the question is simple, why, in your opinion, is a Harley Davidson motorcycle better than a comparable Victory motorcycle? I am putting the trolls to the test, and would like answers a little more thought out than Victory sucks Harley rules. I have owned both, but I am curious of other peoples opinions. I am espcially interested in those who have actually ridden both. I look forward to your responses.
to the baron: I have logged over 15k miles on various harleys including 2 that I owned. What wouldent I understand?
Polar bear, I am not sure where you got your percentages from, but they are wrong. Last I checked, almost half of my 04 harley fatboy was made in china and the vast majority of my 03 Vrod was a german design (porsche engine). The most consistant estimates of current models show that Harleys are about 43% american made and Victorys are 86% american made. The article you referenced, dated over a decade ago when victory only had one model, the v92, explained why polaris decided to enter the motorcycle market, not that they were copying a design from harleys and hondas. A cursory glance at any modern victory will show that they have no intention of copying an antique. Compare the v92 to the original harley if you are going to play that game. It took harley 85 years to design and produce a reliable bike, and it took victory 5 years to make a bulletproof one. Please check your facts before you post them.
You can see victorys smoking harleys left and right on drag strips on youtube. Hell, ive raced vrods on my bagger and won consistantly.
