why don't they ever tell you this at sex ed/biology class/medical books/etc?

Assuming this is normal (it is, right?), during puberty, minor labia grow, sometimes they even stick out from major labia. I got really scared when it happened to me, I thought I was somehow deformed because at school they never tell you this.
It always says something like "during puberty, the changes in girls are hips getting wider, breasts get bigger, hair appears, etc. why don't even books tell you this? Also, at school when they teach reproductive organs, about the female they only teach the inside (uterus, vagina, etc) never the outside. Maybe it's only in my country?
