...revenue out weighs the investment? There will be several Million people and you know that they are all spending a lot of money to be in DC for this. HELLO! Geniuses.

OK so your logic is through federal taxes that the entire nation pays you feel its justified for the local revenue that is brought to the district of columbia.

That makes as much sense as a person from Maine having their tax money go to improve a highway in Delaware.

Do a Google search for "cost inauguration bush" and you'll find that liberals were outraged at the cost of GW Bush's first inauguration. What's changed?

Yo thug! We is paying . Wassup, homey.

Add to that the massive costs of security and transportation — costs absorbed by U.S. taxpayers — and the historic inauguration will produce an equally historic bill.

I'm not a thug, and your wrong it does not out way or equal...nor is that the point you dont begin a platform of change with more outlandish spending,He(obama) had a chance at showing US the country he means what he said instead he chooses celebrity, and me time, and the biggest party on earth..

Thugs? Wow, because someone has a different view then yours does not make them a thug..

I have never thought of myself as a thug.....interesting. Anyway, I hope that you are right.....however, the money being spent on the inauguration (which it is my understanding has been mostly privately funded) seems to me to send a message of excess that is disrespectful in the face of the current situation that many Americans find themselves in right now. As the inauguration is going on I will be working at a job that I may not have in a month. Many of my students (most of who are in my class because they score below average on state testing) will find themselves in classes that have increased to more than thirty per class, before next year. Four of my neighbors homes were being auctioned off/foreclosed this weekend and several of my neighbors have sons and daughters on one of two war fronts......the extravegance is something that I can not identify with and is offensive. Thug - no......time to get busy fixing things, YES......A dignified ceremony noting the historical significance of the moment and a single & modest reception/"ball" would have been just fine.
