Why don't Puerto Ricans play folk music (salsa) anymore?

It seems like all puerto ricans, even the older ones just play reggaeton. A Mexican in a car passes by, they're playing ranchera, a Dominican's car passes by and they're playing bachta, but when a Puerto Ricans car passes by they're playing Reggaeton? Has this bullsh*t they call "Reggaeton" replaced Salsa as Puerto Rico's folk music? I'm tired of hearing "Rakata, si se me pegan voy a darle" and "te gusta la gasolina?"
Have Nuyoricans become way too ghetto or something?
