'Sounds and Effects', it works? But when I go to 'Sounds and Audi Devices' in the control panel, it says 'No Audio Device'. I am using a C-media AC97 audio device that had no working driver. I downloaded Realtek AC'97 Audio to fix the error in device manager, and now when I test the speakers using 'Sounds and Effects', I can hear the tone. Please help!
 
right click on my computer and click manage. Then click device manager and go down to sound, video and game controllers. Right click on your audio driver and uninstall it. Then restart your computer and let windows update install a new driver and see if that helps you.
