Why don't either of my flash drives work?

I got a flash drive from staples a while ago and it holds 64M.
The problem is it only works on my laptop, but not my computer.
The other flash drive I got from staples is SanDisk 1GB Cruzer Micro with U3
The problem with that one is that it only works on my laptop, and when I try to use it on my computer it freezes my computer..
How could I fix the problem?

I have a Dell laptop and a Compaq computer.
