france does and the nuclear waste for a whole family for a whole year is the same amount as a shot glass, so it would be the most productive and eco friendly energy available

In the US the right keeps pushing for alternate fuel sources, but the left rejects the expansion of a nuclear program, clean coal, and drilling new oil well that would open up new natural gas deposit. They cry that they want to solve the problem, then just spin their wheels on it.

We do use Nuclear. We now produce 10-13 percent of our power from this source. France produces 80%. We had a goal of about 50% in the 70's and 80's because our electric power industry knew we needed it, but our wonderful "Environmentalists" killed our nuclear program. Isn't it ironic that our "Environmentalists" forced us to produce massive amounts of CO2 that the "Environmentalists" now say is causing Global Warming.
They also are forcing us to produce massive amounts of CO2 from our cars because our "Environmentalists" do not allow us to use the diesel cars Europe has that get 50-60MPG. I guess the European environmentalists are much smarter than ours.
The combination of Nuclear power and diesel cars really helps EU countries produce less CO2.

there are dozens of nuclear power facilities in the united states. i'm not really sure what you're talking about.

Because it's not about CO2 and it never has been. It's not about the environment and it never has been. It's about shutting down the "American consumerist lifestyle" for its own sake. When the Malthusians with that goal realized they'd lost the debate in the realms first of economics and then anthropology/sociology, they simply changed venues instead of conceding defeat.
