Why doesn't skype seem to have a public chat rooms anymore?

I haven't used skype in a really long time. When I used to use it I remember that there was a list of rooms you could join whenever you wanted. Now I can't fin any rooms to talk to random people in. It seems that they still have some sort of way to still do it by finding links to rooms. But when I go in noone is there. Where can I find rooms from all over the world to chat in anytime I wanted like I used to. Either skype sucks now or I'm being dum and can't find where to do it.
