Why doesn't President Obama outlaw drilling for oil?

Lets face the facts -- we all know that Bush was behind the oil spill in the gulf. He figured a disaster would cause oil prices to SKYROCKET meaning more cash for him and BIG OIL. What he didn't plan on was President Obama's relentless response to the spill. Not only will he shutdown the spill, but he will shutdown BIG OIL permanently. Why doesn't he also outlaw drilling for oil in the first place?
 
Uh.......... a bit extreme and very likely incorrect And I'm a liberal, and i still disagree with you. Anyway, if Obama did that it would paralyze our economy. Nothing would power factories, it would close an entire industry, and it is flat out stupid.
 
No Bush isn't behind it. It's wierd timing could be an Eco group but that is a very long shot. He doesn't outlaw drilling because we don't have any alternative to gasoline.
