Why doesn't my heat work after replacing thermostat on 1993 Toyota Corolla?

I was having trouble getting my heater to blow hot air in my 1993 Toyota Corolla. The temperature gauge wasn't leaving the cool mark, whether I was moving or just idling. I was told to replace the thermostat. I did and now when I am idling the gauge will move to middle between hot and cold and the heater will work fairly well. However, after I start moving, the gauge goes back down to cold and the heater will just barely work. Is there a way to keep the engine warm while the vehicle is moving? I replaced the thermostat and all of the fluids already. Where should I start and what should I look at? I can provide more details if needed.
