Why doesn't Congress allow the right of the people to bear arms, in the halls of

Congress? After all, Congress belongs to the "people", right?

For as much as our Congress stands for the second Amendment, and is bought and paid for by the NRA, why can't law-abiding American citizens carry loaded weapons into the Capitol building?

The Supreme Court last year struck down the DC ban on handguns. With the proper permit, we can carry anywhere our state allows, (or not even the state where we live, but some other state by mail order, based on the Constitutional provision of "reciprocity"), including "town hall" meetings with our Representatives. So why can't we legally carry loaded weapons into the Capitol building to view our lawmakers in action?

If there were any hint of danger, shouldn't the Congress-persons be allowed to carry themselves, as a deterrent? I mean, who would walk into the House loaded and wanting trouble, knowing that 435 people were also carrying? Right?

That being said, I DO NOT ADVOCATE CARRYING LOADED WEAPONS INTO ANY FEDERAL BUILDING. DON'T DO IT. IT'S BAD AND ILLEGAL AND WRONG AND DON'T DO IT.

(Please don't put me on your "list").

I'm just wondering why our elected Congress feels they are above the laws they pass.
@rejectedzipper: Clearly you don't understand the underlying concept of my question; which relies on cultural and political knowledge of the subject at hand, and you simply reacted in a knee-jerk fashion, with emphasis on the "jerk". And you didn't answer my question, so who is the moron?
