why doesn't anyone seem to understand discuss anymore?

I'm getting a little tired of this web site where people take things too literally, if you asked to debate a subject anywhere else on the planet like university wouldn't you do it as an exercise?
Yet on here everyone takes it as a literal comment and attacks a view you don't hold. right rant over so i'll try again and maybe for the last time.
discuss the matrix as a concept of mind control ?
and no i dont belive we are all plugged into a giant computer i would just like some differing opinions on the concept!

asking for your opinoin ( discuss) is both a question from me and answer from you but with me adding the clause of please elaborate.

Such discussion would be futile as either:

A: There is no matrix so we are discussing something that does not exist (therefore pointless)

or

B: The matrix does exist and any discussions we have are actually the machinations of the programme itself (therefore meaningless)

There are those who have their brain plugged into the computer ready to attack a view. Me I love the debate questions offer.
I'm no often chatting on Q&A not often on computer.

The answers I have had have been great mostly.
so you feel your taking to yourself rather than holding properly constructed discussions.
