Some species of animals, such as the prairie dogs, always has one individual looking out for predators while the others feed and reproduce. Theses animals have a well-developed social structure where group members are genetically related. Explain why such warning behavior is likely to occur only in groups that are genetically related? I'm thinking that it's because individuals want to protect their own species who in turn can protect them while they go and feed. The subject is trophic interactions.
