why does this guy do this? its wrong are all military men like this?

here recently i met this guy at the bar he was super sexy but i always ask if there is a woman in his life or does he have kids and he told me no so i gladly took his number and we texted back and forth for a month or so he would always send me messages like hey sexy and telling me he misses me and wants to spend time with me, he was telling me all kinds of sweet things making me have feelings for him but when it came down to us meeting up he always said he couldnt or he had something to do.... later on down the road well like a month or so i get a crazy message and get this from his wife and i find out that he lied to me about having a wife and a child and that he was expecting another baby in march.... i felt so betrayed....I am against coming between a husband and wife.... how do i explain to her that i didnt know that he had a wife because he told me that he didnt have one..... but anyways also he called me and was telling me i guess as a self defense or a way to make his wife start thenk hes no longer talking to me thinking or something but hes said i only wanted to be your friend i didnt intend on us ever going any further than texting.... i dont want to cheat on my wife i dont want to be with anyone else just felt like talking.... but ok if he wasnt planning on something why did he lie to me and go behind his wifes back to talk to me ...... he is in the military and i do like military men but not married men so answer this why do men do that and are all military men like that if so im not going to bother because i feel terrieble about this and i know his wife is really hurt by this...
well duh men think with their penises but really shouldnt he be a little more mature than that but then again some men dont mature ever
