Why does the U.S complain about drugs when the problem is mostly our fault?

I always hear complaints about drugs coming across the Mexican border, and we should secure it, but I NEVER hear, even on the news or anywhere else, how Americans are using all these drugs, and supporting the cartels, and also supporting terrorists who are in on it too. I think it's ridiculous to complain when drug use is so rampant!
