I got my phone last month, August 4, and it has been working fine up through the beginning of this month (except for the terrible battery life). I then installed a task killer app around the end of the month because i read that it will help save battery life, though it didn't seem to make much of a difference. Sometime within the past week I downloaded the latest upgrade for my phone, I think it was version 2.2. Since then, my phone has seemed to work slower, applications are laggy, when i try to type in my password the touch screen gets confused by not responding correctly to the way i move my fingers to the desired codes to unlock my phone, and when i didn't think it was possible my battery life sucks even more now! I use the task killer on every item but the music app doesn't die! And after a call or i open one or two apps, all these apps that i've hardly ever used open up in the task killer - nothing seems to die but my battery!!!! I have been charging it for the past 4 and a half hours when it was on 35% now its on 77%. Worst of all, I was playing a game earlier today and tried listening to music while playing the game, when the sound all of a sudden cut off. I could see the song playing but the sound wasn't coming out of the speakers. My ringtone worked then, but no media sound was playing. As the day went on, I couldn't play media tracks at all unless i had my earphones plugged in. Now my ringtone doesn't even work - no sound comes out of the phone whatsoever, even when i turn it on it doesn't say "DROID." So now i am depressed cause the incredible is no longer living up to its name.
Was it something i installed?
If i were to take a stab at it, i'd say it was the update, and it had a bug or two which is screwing with my system.
Is there anything i can do?
I haven't called verizon yet, but tomorrow i'll give it a shot and see what they have to say. Unfortunately i got the phone a few days over 30, so i don't know if i'd be able to get a new one.
