Why does the ode to joy affect me so?

no matter how upset i am, the ode to joy will always always always cheer me up! :D they say music has a certain power over us. i think there may be some truth to that. its funny im a metal head, i grew up on rob zombie, megadeth, alice in chains and the like. very deppressing and angry music but every time i hear the ode to joy i cant help but crack a smile and ocasionly tear up. i know thats a lil silly but it just happens. anyone know what i mean?
 
Yes...but...um....I am a little concerned about one thing.

Have you seen "Clockwork Orange"? The main character in that Stanley Kubrick film also had quite a passion for and was powerfully affected by the music of "Luddy Van" as he called him.

Worth a look. Hopefully you do not end up as he.
