If you put rabbi abuse in google you'll see a ton of scandals but I have never seen it reported on the news or in any newspaper. Why do they only care to go after priests who abuse but give a free lunch pass to rabbis who abuse? And whenever I have posted this on CNN blogs the moderators never approve and post it anywhere on their website.
portia - are you saying that because rabbis don't take a vow of celibacy it's not a big deal if they abuse boys and girls (and women congregants who go to them for help in some cases)? Would the vow make the experience more tragic for the victims?
I was abused by a rabbi and have been told to keep quiet about it but I can't keep it quiet much longer.
CNN won't hear my story but I bet if I told them it was by a priest they'd be all over it.
