Why does the Honda of Covington (LA) dealership treat shoppers like we are stupid?

this is an affluent area-- why would a dealership go old-school and ignore the opportunity to build trust and relationships??? the sales management (Larry) must be south shore and/or a short-timer. The tactics used went out of vougue in the 80s. I cannot imagine that they can generate sales by using bait & switch tactics and/or making ridiculous offers to see if the buyer will bite. anyone checking invoice prices online or book value for cars would immediately see their tactics as infuriating. are we really that stupid???? or are they???
 
They are stupid because they havent realized that the average consumer is doing their homework before buying a car. We are comparing prices as well as checking the trust worthiness of a company. It is to the point where we have to or run the risk of being HAD.
