why does the brake pedal on my automatic 98 F150 4x4 get stuck? how can it be fixed?

when I press the brake pedal it will stay depressed, I have to pull it back up with my foot.
when the pedal stays on the floor the brakes do stay stuck, so I have to pull the pedal back with my foot in order let the truck move. how can it be fixed?
 
Sounds like your brake booster solenoid has failed and needs to be replaced.
It could be your brake fluid needs to be changed as well, as air can become trapped in the lines and hamper brake operation.

If you aren't sure take it to a mechanic and ask for these possible problems, and good luck!

That sounds quite dangerous. You need to call and make an emergency appt. with the dealership and get it fixed "yesterday", if you know what I mean. That problem could be life-threatening, if you know what I mean.
