Why does the activity change in enzymes when the PH changes?

because the acid levels act differently depending on the Ph level. there is alkaline7-10 and there acid 0-7 ph level. ( something like that)

it is because it speed the activity up when pH goes down (to more acidic) if i remember this correctly...

Because it changes the shape on the enzymes and it can no longer fit in the active site and create the right reactions.

Depends on the enzyme; for example, enzymes in your stomach require a low (acidic) pH. When the contents of your stomach enter your duodenum (intestines), the pH is neutralized with bicarbonate from....the pancreas or something, sorry my memory is fuzzy.

So, in the end, the enzymes are usually "denatured" by a change in pH, their proteins' shapes are changed, rendering them ineffective.
