last week i changed the serp belt on my 2001 chevy malibu. i thought it was weird that only half of it was missing. today as i walked up to my car i noticed something hanging from the bottom of it. when i opened my hood i realized that it again was half of my belt. half was on the other half was just cought on something. i bought another belt.This time when i changed it i left the engine on while i stayed to look at it for a while. i noticed that the big bottom pulley (water pump? can someone confirm?) only had the belt on it halfway. the first thing in thought it was was the tension pulley. i replaced that and when i turned the engine on again the same thing happened half the belt starts to hang off the bottom pulley towards the engine.if i look at it straight from the top it seems like the bottom pully might be sticking out a little too much causing the belt to wanna come off. is it possible that the bottom pully can be sliding off and that is why my belt wants to keep coming off of it?
