i don't think its the kind with fluid. It uses a belt. its like a whining type of winding sound. I had thought it was my transmission making the "EEEEE" noise due hearing it driving in the freeway and engaging and disengaging the clutch affected the noise. but i heard the exact same noise while the car wasn't moving, in neutral, but the engine was running and turning the wheel produced the noise
its power steering in a 66 elcamino
when i turn it all the way in one direction it squeals. this is not the same noise. its not as harsh as the squealing and i would describe it as a winding noise
