Why does Obama's followers compare him to Lincoln?

The guy has done NOTHING, and Libs are saying he's like Lincoln, the man who free the slaves. Anyone who claims the parties have "switched" is out of their mind! The Democrats, like back then, have always based things on racial lines "affirmative action anyone"? Sounds like the libs are trying to cover up their own dirty history...

Will Obama try and replace Lincolns head with his own on the monument?

his followers have not one single clue about what he stands for..if they say "change" then that is proof that they do not have a clue

Lincoln was a racist. He freed the slaves for purely economic and political reasons...not because he was a good and honorable man, and cared about the sufferings of the slave population.

Sounds like YOU'RE trying to cover up your dirty history.
 
No one is comparing him to Lincoln,but his cabinet picks resemble Lincoln's. He has picked a "team of rivals",and that's why Lincoln comes up. I barely hear it anymore these days
 
eI don't understand your complaint. I see many comparisons between Obama and Lincoln.

1. Both from Illinois.
2. Neither had any experience. Lincoln was a one-term Representative and Obama was a 4 year absentee Senator.
3. Both ran on race.
4. Both further divided the country. Obama is trying to do it on economic class lines and Lincoln on regional class lines.

Lincoln was a failure as president. His election started the Civil War. His leadership as commander in chief caused the death of 620,000 Americans. The Emancipation Proclamation didn't free all slaves (read it) but only the slaves in the southern states and this was done to disrupt the South and win the war.

The results turned out good with the end of slavery but it wasn't because Lincoln was a great leader.
 
Yes, both parties have changed a lot since Lincoln's time, but really, just about everyone was racist back then, even Lincoln. But Lincoln was one of the more progressive of his time. He was a conflicted man. I know I was thinking of Obama as Lincoln-like before I ever read anything about it because of his choice of cabinet members. Like Lincoln, Obama chose people who would dissent with his views, meaning he chose people who disagree with him. This is important if you want a wide array of ideas presented to you and if you want to be objective. It's actually a really intelligent and humble move.
 
To the liberals He is like any president they choose for the moment.
Next week it will be like Kennedy or even FDR.
 
Agree with above. If you want a firm person to compare him to... Its Carter... I would like to see what Rush was doing in Washington though... He maybe he talked some sense and less hope into this incompetent and inexperienced socialist.
 
I don't know of any liberals who compare Obama to Lincoln.
That's the media noise buckets.
