Why does my turtle beach headset play static/buzzing sound?

So i just got my turtle beach x1 headset. i plugged it in everything is in right and when i turn on my xbox the left speaker plays no static and plays the sound from the tv perfectly fine. the right side plays no sound and only plays a loud annoying static/buzzing sound. Why is this happening and how can i fix this? PLEASE HELP!!!!
