Hi guys.
I know that one of the main causes of the whole flaky looking foundation thing is dry skin.
I do have dry skin, so that is why I make sure to exfoliate my face and moisturize, moisturize, moisturize.
Before applying my make-up to get my face primed and ready to give the make-up the best possible base I can achieve, I wash, exfoliate and moisturize like mentioned above.
I use a foundation that is a cream base and has been especially formulated for dry skin, (Maybelline dream creamy) and it usually works wonders.
But recently following my normal routine, my dry skin turns into this awful flakiness after applying foundation and I just don't understand what the problem is.
I've tried to use different applicators - sponge, brush, fingers - but they all wield the same results.
I don't think the foundation itself is the problem because it is relatively new and it has worked perfectly in the past.
What do you guys reckon the problem could be?
Thanks for your responses in advance.
lol. What sort of stupid question is that! Why am I wearing foundation? Well let me think, like most of the girls on this planet, it's a vanity thing, it makes me look better and feel better about myself it clears up my complexion, gives an overall better tone to my face, and gets rid of tired dark eyes. What a stupid thing to say that foundation is to be used only if you have wrinkles! Tell that to every teenager who wears it. Next stupid question please feel free to ask. D*ckh**d.
As for the answer that just outlined all the foundations that there is, did you actually read my question? I know I have dry skin and therefore know I need a foundation that will help with the dry skin, hence the reason I purchase foundation especially formulated for dry skin! It's all written up there! ^^ please read my question before answering.
I use for my exfoliating the L'Oreal perfect clean Foaming Gentle Scrub - Exfoliating for All Skin Types that comes with that little scrublet thing.
And for my moisturizer I use is Johnson's 24 hr moisturizer.
Also something to bare in mind is the fact that I actually don't exfoliate that much, so I don't think it's over exfoliating, I do it about once a week.
I thought it might be because the exfoliating I do do wasn't working well enough. BUT I've just had a brainwave, as the L'Oreal exfoliating scrub I have is pretty new and it could be the culprit, possibly it is drying out my face even more so than normal and that is why my foundation is flaking so badly.
Why are people asking me if I have oily skin when I've clearly mentioned in my question that I have DRY SKIN! As for the person that wrote 'dry skin' that isn't exactly a great answer is it, I know it's because of dry skin. A better elaboration on the matter would have helped but I guess you're just a lazy so and so looking for some easy points. Before answering why not learn to read a question PROPERLY! It could save both yourself and I a lot of time, I don't want an answer to tell me something I already know.
